Wadin Bay was the first FIreSmart Canada Recognized Neighbourhood in Saskatchewan. In this neighbourhood feature, residents tell their history with wildfire, and the steps they've taken to increase their resiliency.
While typically known for its mountains and beauty, the resort town of Banff, Alberta is also a fantastic example of a community that has adopted FireSmart principles. Banff’s fire department, government and FireSmart neighbourhoods have worked together to increase resilience to wildfire.
