At FireSmart we strive to create a community of continued learning. We offer a mix of course types – from the FireSmart 101 online course to workshops throughout British Columbia.
FireSmart 101 Online Course
This online course provides a great introduction to FireSmart. You'll learn about the Wildland Urban Interface, what the home ignition zone is, why FireSmart is needed more than ever, the seven FireSmart principles, and much more. After taking this course, homeowners will feel empowered to take action!
Wildfire Risk Reduction Course
The course will introduce you to the key concepts, players, risk reduction strategies, and funding opportunities that help to minimize the negative impacts of wildfires in our province.
Tips and Tricks For Working With FireSmart BC Webinar
This webinar was held in order to provide local governments, First Nations, Neighbourhood Champions, Fire Departments, Community FireSmart and Resiliency Committee members and LFR's with the tools and know-how to create their own FireSmart communication channels and materials.

Fort St. John – Local FireSmart Representative Workshop
Billy Barker Casino Hotel 308 McLean Street, Quesnel, BC, CanadaThis LFR workshop was developed by the Partners in Protection Association to assist community leaders and fire professionals to become familiar with and implement all components of the FireSmart Canada Community Recognition Program (FCCRP). The training provided in this two-day workshop equips Local FireSmart Representatives with an understanding of current Wildland Urban Interface concepts and wildfire hazard assessments. It provides them with the tools and skills necessary to recruit and motivate volunteer community leaders, and mentoring abilities to work with self-organized groups of citizens as they plan and implement wildfire mitigations in their own neighbourhoods.
