This version of Saskatoon has an appealing upright and columnar growth habit. Its showy white flowers in spring, abundance of tasty purple berries in summer, and outstanding yellow leaves in fall, make it a much more interesting hedge plant than cedars or junipers. This fire-resistant shrub is a nice choice for attracting pollinators and deer tend to leave it alone. It is recommended for use in the extended zone.
