Yellow Twig Dogwood

(aka Cornus sericea ‘Flaviramea’‘)

Yellow Twig Dogwood is a fire-resistant shrub grown for its showy yellow stems. It is especially attractive against a snowy backdrop when paired with Redosier Dogwood. Butterflies are attracted by the creamy-white flowers, and the fruits attract birds. The spreading root system is useful for erosion control and bank stabilization. A row of these shrubs would provide nice summer privacy in the extended zone.

  • Grows to about 1.8 m tall with a similar spread
  • Does best in full sun to partial shade
  • Adapts to varied soil moisture once established
