This adaptable fire-resistant plant is native to BC. It is valuable for stabilizing soil, naturalizing an area, and competing with invasive plants. The small pink flowers produce very ornamental white berry-like fruits that can remain on the plant through the winter. These are a good source of food for birds but are not edible for people. Deer tend to leave this plant alone and seek out tastier treats.
