The amazing foliage colour of this fire-resistant perennial makes it a nice addition to any garden. Green leaves emerge and quickly turn to burgundy tones. The bright yellow bracts seem to flicker against the dark foliage which turns rich red in autumn. It looks best when planted in groups, whether in rock gardens, or as an edging or border plant, and may be used in the intermediate zone. This is a relatively low maintenance plant, and deer tend to leave it alone. This spurge is not invasive, but other spurges can be.
