This toolkit provides the essential information and resources needed for FireSmart Coordinators, Local FireSmart Representatives, Prevention Specialists and other staff to easily promote the FireSmart Education Program Classroom Contest.
Background:
The FireSmart BC Education Program was launched in 2023. To promote the Program and add to the excitement of students returning to school, we are running a classroom contest from September 30 to November 4, 2024 offering fantastic prizes to participating schools.
To raise awareness about the program and contest, we are organizing a direct mail campaign. Each elementary school in BC will receive a package with the materials listed below, while high schools will receive them via email.
We encourage FireSmart BC staff to review the materials, familiarize themselves with the content, and connect with their local schools. The most effective way to encourage participation is through direct, one-on-one engagement at the local level. For additional resources, you can also access the FireSmart BC Education Program toolkit.
Thank you for helping spread the word and supporting wildfire resilience education!
