Compact Burning Bush is a fire-resistant plant that puts on a show in the fall with dark green leaves becoming a brilliant scarlet. In winter the small red berries and ridged bark offer visual interest against a snowy backdrop. Its natural, slightly vase-shaped form is suitable for use as an accent plant, or as a lovely hedge in the extended zone. Minimal pruning is needed to retain its shape, however as with any plant, removing dead, diseased, or damaged parts is important for reducing fire risk.
- Normally grows to about 1.8 m tall with a similar spread
- Quite adaptable to light and moisture conditions but less colourful with less sunlight
- Low maintenance
