Extreme Weather Preparedness BMP funding for FireSmart BC Farm & Ranch Assessments:
Step 1: Apply for funding: Producers apply for funding for a FireSmart BC Farm & Ranch Assessment through the Extreme Weather Preparedness category of the BMP Program (delivered by IAF) through BMP Code 3601 in the Extreme Weather: Plans and Assessments category.
Step 2: Funding confirmation:Approved applicants receive a letter from the program (IAF) approving funding for an assessment and providing a list of approved EWP FireSmart Assessors.
Step 3: Complete assessment: Producers contact a FireSmart assessor from the list provided by IAF and schedule an assessment. Assessors visit the farm/ranch to conduct the assessment and complete the Farm & Ranch Assessment Report. The assessor invoices the producer for the work.
Step 4: Reimbursement issued: Producers submit the Report and Receipts to the program (IAF). Reimbursement is issued from the program (IAF) to the producer for the cost of the assessment (up to the maximum funding amount; see program details).
