FireSmart in action

Powderview FireSmart Work Bee

Dear Powderview owners & great neighbours …

Danny, myself and the entire Strata Council would like to thank each and every owner who turned out for our incredible FireSmart work bee last Saturday 20th.  Even though it rained (poured at times) we had a fantastic community spirit building volunteer event.  We had with an hour lunch break at noon.

“CHEF DANIEL” prepared an over the top BBQ feast on (two separate barbeques) of salmon filets or chicken filet gourmet burgers, two different Pemberton fresh potatoe salads, wild organic salad from Danny’s Pemberton ranch garden, three different chip choices, three home baked Angel food cakes topped with fresh Pemberton strawberries and whip cream.  A fantastic assortment of beverages including red and white wines, ice cold Whistler Brewing beers and homemade lemonade for the kids and some adults to enjoy.

Not one person went hungry or thirsty.  Paul Street (#28) who works for Vail supplied pop up tents to cover all the cooking and food table areas, as well as over the picnic tables.  Everyone who participated in this team work bee loved and raved about our community get together and would like to do another similar event when the time comes.

Also a very special thanks to Jules Lajoie who is the Strata President of The Courtyard complex next door to Powderview.  Jules worked very hard with all of us to see how these FIRESMART events come together.  Their complex will also be doing a FIRESMART volunteer day with their owners sometime later this summer.  From all of us at Powderview Jules, thank you so, so, very much for all your passionate hard work.

Two more Powderview owners that I specifically would also like to thank personally are Chris McAllister from #10 who arranged through his brother who works at Whistler Muni to get, and Chris then installed, a new STOP sign for all of us to keep safe as we are leaving Marmot Place and turning left to go down Gondola Way and Adam Legg from #30 who so very kindly supplied and drove his pick-up truck up and down the steep driveway to get 15 truckloads of tree branches / big limbs up to the dumpster bin storage area next to the big green Hydro box.

So once again from Danny and myself to all you wonderful Powderview neighbours and friends …  THANK YOU!!!  THANK YOU!!!  THANK YOU!!!

Enjoy a relaxing, peaceful, very safe, summer season Sunday afternoon / evening ahead!
